The challenge
- Lovable output is not WordPress. There is no export that becomes a theme — the pages have to be rebuilt, not imported.
- The existing forms had to keep working, which meant matching their behaviour against the site's forms plugin rather than dropping in something generic.
- New Elementor templates had to sit alongside pages that already existed without overriding them — template conflicts in Elementor are silent and only show up on the wrong page.
- Navigation had to work across both the new pages and the ones already there, not just within the converted set.
- Sliders and the design elements around them had to be reproduced closely enough that the owner recognised their own site — and had to hold up at every screen size, not just the one they were designed on.
- Three days, with no scope for a long discovery phase.
What we did
- Rebuilt each page in Elementor rather than attempting to convert the Lovable output — faster and cleaner than fighting markup that was never meant to be a theme.
- Matched the original forms using the site's existing forms plugin, so submissions kept behaving the way the owner expected.
- Built the Elementor templates with their display conditions scoped deliberately, then checked every existing page to confirm nothing had been silently re-templated.
- Rebuilt the navigation across the whole site so the converted pages and the existing ones behaved as one site.
- Matched the sliders and design elements to the original, then tested them across breakpoints — an AI builder produces a layout that looks right at one width, and reproducing it faithfully means making it work at all of them.
- Delivered a written report covering what was rebuilt, how the templates are scoped, and what to watch when adding pages later.
The outcome
- Site live on WordPress in three days, editable in Elementor by the owner.
- Forms preserved and working on the site's own plugin.
- No template conflicts with existing pages.
- Sliders and design elements reproduced and responsive across devices.
- Hosting and content now owned outright rather than tied to a builder platform.
